It's Hump Dayyyyy!
I didn't post yesterday. I was getting ready to write when Holly and Aaron-the-son-in-law came over after she got in from work...so I forgot.
I thought I had written on the blog about Joshua's Christmas Program at Therapeutic Recreation....but I didn't. And I can't imagine why. It was so cute!
Someone filmed it, so yesterday...the group decided to watch it together. Ms. Sherrie, the program director, and the staff, decided it would be fun to make it like a movie premier. They went to the community center, where they have a big, pull-down movie screen...and they asked all the FRIENDS to dress up fancy. They wanted to make it a big deal.
Joshua wore jeans and a long-sleeved button-up shirt. I didn't want to fight him on wearing "Sunday pants," because then he would've had to wear his Sunday shoes...on a TUESDAY...and ain't nobody got time for THAT.
He did put on a corduroy blazer that HE SAID made him "look FLY." I posted a picture on my Facebook, and on IG (martythemoose).
After the premier, they came back to the TR Center and ate lunch. Joshua's favorite thing, next to EATING OUT for lunch, is to take left-overs from home for his lunch. He's not much of a sandwich person, but he will eat a sandwich without complaining (unless it's two days in a row because Holly and Aaron ended up eating with us so there were no left-overs...but let's not re-hash THAT).
Fortunately, we had left-over salmon, broccoli and Sister Shubert's rolls. Joshua was in his happy place.
Today, Joshua's group did an art project, ate lunch at the Center (he took left-over baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and left-over broccoli AGAIN)...and then made and baked cookies.
In other news, we may or may not be on a broccoli ban up at the TR Center. Ever been in a situation where someone warmed up broccoli in a microwave...in a small area...where there are OTHER PEOPLE?
Just sayin'.
Saw-REE.
